Tom De Haven, author of 18 books, regular contributor to the New York Times Book Review, and Professor in the VCU Department of English, will be giving the lecture, “Krazy Kat Goes to Kollege: Comics in the Curriculum (and what it means)” as the 2011-2012 Elske v. P. Smith Lecture.

I really enjoyed The Green Man, by Kingsley Amis. It starts out as some sort of English comedy — a guy who owns a pub has a drinking problem, has health problems, has a marriage problem, has a mistress problem, and has children problems, then suddenly starts seeing ghosts.
