More and more mobile and other electronic devices these days ship without USB charging power adapters–they may include a charging cable but assume you will provide the power adapter or will charge the device by plugging it into your computer. Even if you have your own charging adapters, your charging area and power strip becomes a crowded, tangled mess of power bricks and cables if you are trying to charge multiple devices. The Tripp Lite 10-Port USB Charging Hub helps resolve these issues by providing 10 USB charging ports in a compact package.
In the box you get the charging hub, 3’ power cable, hub stand, and manuals. The charger provides up to 5V, 2.1A of power per port for charging your mobile devices, such as iPads, tablets, phones, and cameras. Note that the 10 USB powers are USB-A ports, so you will not be able to use USB-C cables without an adapter. The unit also has attached rubber feet on one side in case you do not want to use the hub stand.
The unit provides over-heating, over-current, and over-charging (stops charging when device battery is full) protection. On the back of the unit there is a dedicated on/off switch and a blue LED lights when the unit is on. There is also a cooling fan that turns on when the unit is on. The unit contains a dual voltage (100-240V) power supply.
In use, the unit works as specified–I was able to charge my iPad, iPhone, iWatch, camera gimbal, headphones, two GoPro cameras, two Bluetooth speakers, and a small rechargeable guitar amp. Unfortunately, I had originally thought to keep the charger in my office, but when the unit is on the cooling fan makes audible fan noise–the noise is too loud for me to keep on my desk. So the unit would have been perfect had it been quieter and provided two USB-C ports as well as USB-A ports. But otherwise, the Tripp Lite 10-Port USB Charging Hub does make charging devices easier since it helps prevent cable and power brick clutter.
