Here are some basic instructions for setting up a SEED lab environment for cybersecurity education:
- Install the VirtualBox virtual machine software (not necessary if you already have VMware).
- Download the desired VM image — here’s the link to SEEDUbuntu16.04.zip (built May 2018), and here’s the link to the user manual
- Verify the MD5 checksum of the VM image file (2d4aefc4624f4676674dc8e19cf7cfec at the time of this post). Yes, it’s only MD5, but it’s better than nothing.
- After unzipping the VM image, for the most part you can simply follow these instructions.
