Here’s a quick unboxing video of the Canon EF 24mm f/2.8 IS USM wide angle lens.
I’ve been enjoying the Canon 40mm pancake lens on the Canon EOS Rebel SL1—it’s a great macro lens—but I also wanted a wide angle lens, especially for outdoor shoots.
While not as compact as the 40mm, the 24mm does have a low profile, which fits with why I chose the SL1 in the first place.
Another cool feature is its Image Stabilizer—since I often crop photos for embedding on web pages, having the stabilizer will help make sure that even cropped images are sharp.
I expect the lens to also work well while shooting video—I’m really curious to see how quiet it’s going to be when shooting video using auto-focus.
