Some people tell me, in an unsure whisper, that it’s Friday.
Maybe it is. Maybe it isn’t.
Sleep deprivation is taking its toll.
Among the first events at the Stonehouse for Day 8 of this Stonecoast residency was a graduate presentation by Malissa Kent on “It’s Not Easy Being E: The Perils and Pitfalls of E-Publishing”.
Stonecoast is keeping a close eye on epublishing, as witnessed by the formation of the eTeam, which presented on Stonecoast residency Day 2. One of the eTeam’s panel members, this morning Malissa gave a very interesting talk on the marketing aspects of epublishing.
Next, my short story got workshopped. I’m in a great group of writers, and I appreciate everyone’s feedback and suggestions (workshop leader is Elizabeth Searle).
After lunch, I went to the guest faculty presentation “Writing the Truth: Persuading through Prose” by Jane Cleland. She presented five story structures and illustrated these structures by examining three non-fiction and fiction examples.
For the afternoon’s graduating student readings, I supported the popular fiction team and heard excellent readings by Lindsey Bogason:
Adam Gallardo:
and Malissa Kent:
In the evening there was a guest reading by Nahid Rachlin as well as another round of student open mic.
Huzzah!
