Especially when on travel or if you have an active lifestyle, wireless headphones that sound good and that have a long battery life are essential features. The Shure SE535 Wireless Earphones have these features and more.
Included in the box are the SE535 earphones, a wireless Bluetooth 5 cable and battery, a 3.5mm audio cable (127 cm), a micro-USB charging cable, a 1/4" audio adapter, a carrying case, and a custom fit kit with a variety of sleeves. The wireless cable and the wired cable each have an inline mic and remote controls. The wireless battery has a clothing clip and the battery life lasts about 10 hours. The range of the wireless Bluetooth connection is about 10 m (30 ft).
The limited edition red earpieces have a frequency range of 18Hz - 19.5 kHz. Each earpiece has two woofers and a separate tweeter. In use I found the frequency response fairly flat, which gives authentic sound reproduction. That said, if you are looking for emphasized bass response, these might not be to your liking. One big benefit is these earpieces are easily detachable from the cables. From past experience, with heavy use the cables on most headphones are most likely to break first–since these earpieces are detachable from the cables not only can you easily switch from wired to wireless operation, but if you damage the cable you can simply buy another without also having to buy the expensive earpieces as well. The sleeves for the earpieces (below) simply twist on/off and are very easy to change.
The earphones come with a variety of sleeves: triple flange sleeves, yellow foam sleeves, soft flex sleeves (in small, medium, and large sizes), and foam sleeves (in small, medium, and large sizes). These are not noise cancelling headphones, but with a proper fit–and with the variety of sleeves you can get the custom fit you want–you can get good sound isolation (up to 37 db). There is also included a small cleaning tool in case you have wax buildup.
All in all I am very happy with the Shure SE535 Wireless Earphones. The easily detachable wired and wireless cables means I can change my connection option depending on what I am doing and I like that if I ever have to replace the cable, I don’t also have to replace the earpieces. With the variety of sleeves I was able to get a good fit, which helps reduce outside noise. And most importantly, I find the sound quality really good for the variety of audio I listen to on a regular basis–calls and meetings, audiobooks/podcasts, movies, and (mainly rock) music. The limited edition red color is an added bonus.
