This Lenox Garden Grove Teapot is a stylish, modern bone china teapot that will fit most settings, from casual to formal. The teapot itself is a white bone china with gold accents and a blue floral toile pattern. The teapot is not at all dainty — rather, it has a nice thickness so that you do not feel it will shatter when picked up. It feels strong and of high quality. As an added benefit, it’s made in the USA!
The capacity of the teapot is 40 ounces (that’s five one cup cups of tea), and empty it weighs 2.26 pounds.
The lid has a slight tab to help secure it to the teapot, but when pouring I still hold the lid with my hand just to make sure. Note that there is no strainer in the teapot, but you won’t spill a drop from the dripless spout.
Cleaning the teapot is easy, and though the teapot is advertised as being dishwasher safe, I always wash it by hand.
The floral pattern is elegant and I could find only slight imperfections — not in the china itself, but in the application of the gold trim — the width of the gold lines is not always the same (see example pic of the spout).
I’ve also included a picture of the teapot next to a teacup, just for scale. Note that this teacup is not part of the Garden Grove set, and is not even china, but I found the teapot went reasonably well with cups already in my cupboard.
All in all, I’m very happy with this teapot and I think it will elevate any home or entertainment setting.
I hope you found this review helpful. And now I’m off to have some tea.
