Clouds, clouds, clouds. Every business seems to want their data in a cloud. But clouds aren’t just for businesses. The Apotop Wi-Copy DW21 is a personal cloud device that offers lots of functionality, especially to users with mobile phones, tablets, and computers.
In the box you get the Apoptop Wi-Copy itself, a micro-USB cable, and a quick-start guide. I did not find the guide itself that helpful, so in my video review I outline several use-cases and problems that this device can help solve.
For example, this device can solve the Old-Tech-Hotel-Room Problem–this device can provide an instant WiFi hotspot even if the only Internet connection you have is an Ethernet cable.
Also, this device solves the Uh-Oh-I’m-Out-Of-Smart-Phone-Battery Problem—-you can use this device as an external battery to charge depleted smartphones or tablets.
Note that while this device does not have a built-in hard drive, it does allow you to hook up an external hard drive or memory card or memory stick and access files on those external storage devices wirelessly, to form your own personal cloud for storage and media streaming.
And so much more. I go into more detail in the video, but this device solves a lot of common problem people have with mobile smartphones, tablets, and laptops, especially when on travel.
This device even allows you to setup a WiFi repeater and SAMBA server!
So, here’s the video review of the Apotop Wi-Copy DW21:
All in all, I found the Apotop Wi-Copy DW21 Personal Cloud Storage and Wireless Router to be a handy companion for mobile devices, especially when on travel, since it has a nice assortment of problem-solving functionality built into a compact, cute little footprint. Think of it as a wireless media hub—-just supply storage and/or an Internet connection and your collection of mobile devices and computers will thank you.
