If you are looking for a stylish, portable USB mic with great sound quality, you might want to consider the Samson Meteor Mic, which is a USB condenser microphone with a large diaphragm and a cardioid pickup pattern.
I go into more detail in my video review (below), but here are the main things I like about the mic:
- The Samson Meteor Mic is a USB condenser microphone with a large diaphragm and a cardioid pickup pattern.
- Cool retro design. With its leg’s extended, the mic stands about 6 inches tall, and the mic’s body is metal with a chrome finish.
- This mic is very portable, and it’s is now my goto travel usb mic. When not in use, the mic’s legs fold up and fit with its included USB cable into the included carry pouch.
- Installation on my MacBook Air was trivial — I plugged in the mic and was able to select the mic in my recording software, GarageBand.
One thing I didn’t like: I would have preferred if the mic was able to record better than CD quality, but for the price the audio quality is great.
Here’s my video review of the Samson Meteor Mic:
In sum, I think the Samson Meteor Mic is a stylish, portable, and durable mic that’s great for your audio needs, whether that’s voiceovers, podcasts, or even sounding crisp and clear on your conference calls.
