Two years ago Amazon introduced the Kindle Fire, and yesterday they announced the newest Kindle Fire model, the Kindle Fire HDX.
The Kindle Fire HDX comes in two versions: 7″ and 8.9″, and these have advanced performance processors, displays, and batteries. And Amazon has reduced the weight of these tablets, as well as added many other hardware and software updates and new abilities, such as “perfect color”—100% sRGB—on-device tech support, and the new Fire OS 3.0 “Mojito”.
Here is a comparison matrix of the Kindle Fire HD and HDX tablets:
The Kindle Fire HDX 7″ is available for pre-order now, and will be released October 18, 2013. The Kindle Fire HDX 8.9″ is available for pre-order now, and will be released November 7, 2013.
As for the Kindle Fire HDs, they have been refreshed and their prices have been lowered.
