I apologize in advance for getting excited about something like this, but I have to admit that I’m not too ashamed to say I’m really happy with my OXO Good Grips Measuring Cups.
There are several reasons why I think they are the best measuring cups I’ve ever had:
- Their stainless steel construction gives them a solid feel
- They have soft, non-slip handles
- They have a nice design—including a lip, so liquids don’t run down the sides of the measuring cup when you pour
- The measurement markings are clearly visible
- They attach and detach easily from a metal ring that helps keep them all together
- They are easy to clean by hand or by dishwasher
These measuring cups are just one of many products made by OXO, known for their functional, usable, and well-designed kitchen utensils. I first heard about OXO in the documentary film Objectified, which profiles the New York design firm Smart Design, a strategic partner with OXO.
To put these measuring cups to the test, I decided to try them out by making from-scratch buttermilk pancakes.
The measuring cups did their duty in holding and pouring the dry and liquid ingredients. And the pancakes? They turned out great.
But while I can’t say that the pancakes were awesome because of the measuring cups, I can say that I enjoyed using the measuring cups while making the pancakes, due to the quality design I highlighted above. And ensuring a happy cook helps ensure more pancakes for everyone, which means these OXO Good Grips Measuring Cups have won the measuring cup crown in my kitchen.
