The Parker Jotter Fountain Pen Kit is a kit that contains everything you need to start writing with the Parker Jotter fountain pen. The kit comes with one Parker Jotter fountain pen, one two-ounce bottle of Parker black Quink ink, two black cartridges, two blue cartridges, one ink converter, an instruction manual, and a cleaning cloth.
The pen barrel and cap are stainless steel with chrome trim. The cap has an arrow-shaped clip. The pen is 5 1/16 inches long capped, 4 5/8 inches uncapped, and 5 7/16 inches posted. Using the converter and filled the pen is a very light 16 grams.
The nib is also stainless steel, thought the grip is plastic. I should point out that there is a slight sharp edge where the grip connects to the barrel.
The pen comes with a medium nib, which writes smoothly. Though I would prefer a finer nib, I was only able to find this kit with the medium nib Jotter pen.
With the cap posted the pen feels well-balanced, though again, this is a very lightweight pen. The black Quink ink dries quickly and has a rich black color. Overall, this is a good pen to choose especially if you have small hands or want a pen that is easy to carry with you. In fact, the stainless steel body should help you feel secure in putting this pen in your pocket. The design is modern and functional, and the light weight will not tire out your hand from long writing sessions. Because the Parker Jotter Fountain Pen Kit comes with everything you need to start writing, including cartridges in two ink colors as well as a converter and bottle of ink, this budget-friendly kit makes a great gift to help introduce someone to the joys of writing with a fountain pen.
